Rate definitions
An annualized distribution rate typically scales one recent payment to a full year and divides by a current market value or NAV. A trailing distribution rate instead sums a defined historical period before dividing by a stated value. Both can change with the numerator, denominator, or payment schedule.
This page calculates neither rate because the accepted history does not store a same-date NAV. That avoids combining a current or stale price with historical payments.
Risk and composition
SCHD holds dividend-paying U.S. equities, so payments depend on portfolio income and fund decisions and can rise, fall, or include special distributions. Dividend-focused screening does not prevent share-price losses or guarantee positive total return.
The fund completed a share split in October 2024, so raw per-share amounts on opposite sides of that event are not directly comparable without a split adjustment. Review cash history beside NAV, taxes, fees, portfolio changes, and total return.
